Okay, so my solar setup needed a little TLC... had a brocken MC4 connector to swap out. While searching for a replacement, I kept seeing these 'in-line fuse MC4 solar connectors'. Hmm, kinda suprised I hadn't really noticed them before. Honestly, are they actually worth the extra bit? Or is it just overkill for a regular residential setup like mine?

@antoineduboisfr I've seen them around but always wondered the same thing. My installer actually told me they weren't strictly necessary for my setup, which is also pretty standard residential. Maybe it's more for larger or more complex systems? Curious to see what others say, hopefully someone with direct experience chimes in!

Bob, that's interesting your installer said that. Mine actually insisted on them, even for my small 5kW setup...

He said it was mainly about isolating a single faulty panel in a string preventing a whole string shutdown or worse.

Plus, for warranty stuff sometimes, having that extra layer of protection helps...

(Just my experience though!))
